— GREETINGS FROM
CHINA —
March 10,
2009 – Wow! Six weeks have slipped
by since my last update. You might say I took a breather from the site.
After 12+ years of weekly installments, I guess I needed a break. Not that
I haven't been busy with other things — quite the contrary. But more
about that another time.
Okay. We arrived in Shanghai Sunday afternoon
after a 15+ hour non-stop flight from Atlanta, GA. We were blessed to
fly business class instead of cattle class (courtesy of ECNU-Shanghai and
Delta Airlines) so the flight was comfortable and pleasant. No kidding, I actually
enjoyed the ride.
Who cares about China, what about the
dog?
I know, I know. You're
probably wondering about the Great Dane pictured above. That's Enzo. He is not
a resident of Shanghai, rather he's a down-home southern boy from Savannah, GA.
I bumped into Enzo and his gal-buddy Ellie on the street during a brief visit
to Savannah a couple of weeks ago. They were out for a leisurely stroll, escorted
by their human companions. Enzo was a very tall 3-year-old, taller than most
Great Danes. Ellie (seen below) was very petite and dainty at 8 months
of age. Do you think I'll bump into any Great Danes here in Shanghai?
