June 23, 2008 — JP Yousha (of Chromadane fame) sent me a note last week about the incredible achievements of "Charm" and her owner/handler, Terri Mathias. Charm is the first Great Dane to title in Dock-Diving. Last year she jumped a whopping 21 feet — 4x in a row! She has proudly represented the breed at the Dock Diving National where she competed at the highest level and won her class. Charm is Master Jumper titled and currently holds the BREED WORLD RECORD as an Air-Dog. Farewell to STAR
Tony Tulloch wrote from Australia this weekend to let me know that one of the early talents on DaDane of DaWeek, Star, passed away on June 18 at the venerable age of 10 and a half. Star was just 9 months old when Tony snapped the photo that made her famous. Condolences to Tony and his family.

Foster Plea, NC/SC Area
Jerry Dunham (one of our faithful Great Dane friends) wrote to tell me about "twelve purebred gorgeous Foxhounds" that desperately need help after being seized from their breeder/owner and placed in a shelter that euthanizes up to 300 dogs per week. There are males and females ranging from 1 to 5 years old. All are reported to be people-friendly. The shelter has agreed to hold them as long as they can until foster homes are found, but other dogs are being euthanized to make room. Please contact Jerry for more information.
