— CH Harley D Hardt's "Hell On Wheels" — May 25, 2006 – Well, I'm traveling again! This time we're up in Baltimore, Maryland. I didn't have time to prepare a new DaDane before my departure, but yesterday I was fortunate to find enough time to sneak out to Annapolis to visit the inimitable Karen Quatman and her rambunctious side-kick, Helen. I did a story on Helen four years ago when she was busy stalking squirrels out in the country. She has since left her rural homestead and settled into a lovely neighborhood where she continues to enforce her will on any hapless wild creature who ventures into her domain uninvited. She also stands guard over the backyard swimming pool, ready to pounce on the ever-present, ever-pesky mechanical water snake as it forages for "food" and blows bubbles at her from the bottom of the pool.
