– Best
in Futurity –
October 17,
2005 – I am very pleased to announce that Seventh Heaven Rolling
Stone VZTop won the Futurity today after two days of competition. I
have to admit I was pulling for 4-month-old "Mick" right from the start,
not only because he was clearly extraordinary, but because
he was bred by my good friend and neighbors, Cindy and Glenn Niske,
along
with Lorraine Rainwater.
From the very day he was born, everyone knew
Mick was special. I followed him closely as he competed in
the Futurity ring, and took more photos than I can count. The above
photograph was snapped at the very moment Judge Joy Lobato, after needling
the anxious crowd, made her move to hand Lorraine the winning ribbon.
If you look closely, you can see that Lorraine has just realized the
win – seconds ahead of the spectators.
Below are some more shots of Mick from today's
big event:
Young Mick
This was little Mick's very first
time at a dog show, much less participating in the ring. Unfortunately
Cindy and Glenn were unable to attend the Nationals this year due to
personal
and professional
obligations,
so they did not get to see Mick's remarkable performance. For their
benefit, here some earlier photos of Mick at the Futurity on Sunday
and Monday:
