— Magilla Gorilla —
February 15, 2010 – I've
been watching with interest and amusement as Karen Quatman has been chronicling,
via Facebook, her family's emergency fostering of an 8-year-old harlequin rescue
named Magilla. Surrendered to MAGDRL in December
by his very ill owner, Magilla was not in the best of shape when he arrived at
his foster home. He was underweight, under exercised and in need of some TLC.
But one look at Magilla's sweet face and I knew his story would have a very happy
ending. Magilla is now, officially, a permanent member of the Quatman household.
Karen writes, "Magilla loves to hide toys and bones... anywhere he can find
in the house, ridiculous places. That is how he entertains himself. All Magilla
wants to do is put his head in your lap, on your shoulder or hug you with his
left front leg. Magilla would crawl up your nose if he thought he could fit.
He is a gentle, sweet soul who just wants to be loved. And we do love him."
As you can see, Magilla isn't the only
Dane in the Quatman household. There's Frankie, too!
She had to get used to sharing her people with Magilla, but now they're best
buds.
Oh my, what is that? SNOW?!
(By the time it was over, they had 50 inches to romp through!)
I'm not sure I want to go out in that. It looks cold!
Let's just hang out in here, instead.
Ya know, I'm getting cabin fever!
