August 28, 2009 – On a recent trip
to Marburg, Germany, we met a Great Dane named Venezia. We assume "Fenezia"
took her name from the historic city of Venice, Italy, but we can't be sure because
her companions spoke to us exclusively in German. (The only word I understood
was "blau," for blue.) Fenezia
and her owners did not seem particularly interested in having their pictures
taken, but I managed to get one last shot before they moved on:
