– Chris and Louise, with Rigel and Bella – November 6, 2006 – My favorite sculptor, Louise Peterson, visited us last week along with her husband, Chris, and their two Great Danes, Rigel and Bella. It was a long drive to South Carolina from their mountain home in Colorado, but Louise had plenty of incentive. Her life-size bronze named Chickadee had been purchased by The Reserve at Lake Keowee as part of their permanent collection, and Louise was the guest of honor for the sculpture's dedication. After spending a few days in the lap of luxury at The Reserve, Louise and Chris drove down to our house where they began their vacation in earnest. We enjoyed their company and happily took care of Rigel and Bella for several days while Chris and Louise made side trips to Charleston, SC, and Savannah, GA. It was awfully nice to hear the sound of Dane feet in the house again, although our two cats immediately went into hiding and my favorite swan, Boo Boo, quite literally, ran away. Boo Boo waddled – all by herself – through dense woods to settle on a neighbor's pond. (It couldn't have been an easy trek.) Fortunately, knowing we'd be worried, our neighbors called to tell us where she was. Boo Boo was gone for five days, returning only after Louise and her family had left. New National Photos — TOP
