– OOH-LA-LA –
May 9,
2005 – Three weeks from today I'll
be in Paris! I'm spreading the word early because I hope to meet up
with some Parisian Great Danes. If I can't
find any Great Danes to photograph in Paris, I'm sure I can find other
subject matter, but wouldn't it be wonderful to photograph
some Danes?
Meet me in Paris
We'll be in Paris from May
29 until June 11. My husband will be attending, and speaking
at, The Oceanography Society's annual International
Ocean Research Conference. The meeting runs from June 6-10
at UNESCO headquarters, near the Eiffel Tower. We've taken
an apartment on Boulevard Henri IV, just a couple blocks from the Seine.
It's
a
super
location right in the heart of Paris. A short walk to the metro
station will take us anywhere we want to go. (Ooh-la-la!)
Why rent an apartment?
We're bringing
my 20-year-old
nephew with us. He's a history/art major who has
never before been to Europe, so he's pretty excited. Due to the presence
of my nephew and the length of our stay, it'll be far cheaper (and
more fun) to live in a furnished apartment instead of booking
at a Paris hotel. Our apartment, which is very roomy, provides
a full kitchen so we'll be able to cook some of our own meals.
We'll also have a washing machine and broadband internet service. The
only thing
that's missing
is a
dishwasher,
but
as my
husband was quick to point out, there's no need to worry because we're
bringing our dishwasher with us. His name is Eric.
