November 18, 2002 – Evidently the
recent "Cheetah Dane" portrait
& story generated a great deal of interest. For those of you who
haven't quite figured it out, the Cheetah pattern exists only in my
imagination (and yours). I received several inquiries from people
anxious to acquire a Cheetah Dane. One woman said she and her husband
were ready and willing to travel all the way to Madagascar, if necessary.
Read my lips: There are no Cheetah Danes in Madagascar. Right now
the only Cheetah Danes available for purchase can be found at
www.dogware.com in the form of t-shirts and sweatshirts. (This
is in response to several requests.).

Euro Dog, Paris
I just returned from Europe after attending the 2002 Euro Dog
all-breed dog show in Paris, France. It was great – over
11,000 dogs competed during a three day period. I saw some fascinating
breeds not found in the United States. (A few of them looked
like they came from another planet!) Pictured above is a Neapolitan
Mastiff, or Mastino
Napolitano, as they are often called in Europe. The Neo
is one of my favorite breeds to photograph, along with the Basset
Hound, the Shar Pei (left) and, of course, the Great Dane. Next
week I'll tell you more about the show itself and we'll see
some "EuroDanes." |
