After two swans and a Bulldog, it's time to get back to Great Danes. So far I have shown you examples of "German-style" fawn, black, blue and brindle Great Danes. I'd like to wind up our German series with a look at a couple of harlequins. I can't tell you anything in particular about these two. I simply snapped their pictures while they were waiting for their turn in the ring at the VDH Europasieger-Zuchtschau 2000, which was held in Dortmund, Germany, a few months ago.
I hope you've enjoyed our look at some of Germany's Great Danes. I think you'll agree that the "style" of Dane is a little different from what we're used to seeing in the ring over here in America. I took scads of photos during my visit to Germany and I will probably utilize them occasionally in future photomontage illustrations. For those of you who would like to see more German Great Danes, please visit the International Breeders page, which is part of my Great Dane Links web site. If you scroll down to the Germany section you will find links to web sites belonging to 25 German Great Dane breeders. The list is growing every week as more and more German breeders put their kennels online. Even if you don't speak German and I don't you will certainly enjoy viewing these sites. They display hundreds of Germany's most beautiful Danes. DaDane of DaWeek t-shirts
