The arrival of spring signals the welcome return of warmer weather across the United States. And while April showers bring May flowers, that's not all it brings. We should remember that tornado season is well underway. According to the National Storm Prediction Center, 64 tornadoes were recorded last Thursday and Friday in the Midwest and Ohio Valley. That's 64 tornadoes in just two days! Some experts are predicting we'll see a record number of tornadoes in 1999, due in part to La Nina effect. What would you do in a tornado emergency? Would you be able to act quickly and move your family and pets to a safe location? It's time to develop your emergency plan. The Disaster Center provides lots of tornado information along with links to help you determine your risk. I've bookmarked this site, and suggest you do the same.
