Welcome to Kansas!! I hope you have a great time and find the time to see some of our sights.

I have been a fan of your website for several years! One of the first things I do Monday morning is look for the new pictures!

Hey, shouldn't you be out there, taking photos instead of lolligagging with a hound on the bed? Huh???

Hey Miss Q, be sure you get your proper SHARE of that bed! Sister Angel sends her love!

Hey, Sister Angel, don't worry about Miss Q getting her proper share of the bed. You should rather worry about Ginnie, getting her's. LOL

Ooooh! He's bigger that you! What a sweet baby! I had to put an end to big dogs on the bed because I would get the four-paw shove/stretch in the middle of the night that would nearly send me to the floor; or at least hanging off the edge... :-D

love Jennifer's post. I got up today to wake my daughters up for school, one Dane Kona is on her bed on the floor-good girl that she is and Moses and my other daughter were jockeying for position on her single bed. what site! more pics please !!!!!!!!!!!!

Nova Lefcourt @ 6:10PM | Oct 19th 2006|

There was many a night when either my daughter or son in law would end up on the floor while Shelby would be sleeping peacefully away on the bed.

Fortunately my dane doesn't push me off the bed. He rolls over and falls off himself!!!! Then he has the audacity to look at me like I pushed him or something!!!

When we travel for shows with the dogs we get rooms with 2 double beds.. My husband sleeps in one bed with one Dane, and I get the other bed with the other Dane, (and I get the Chihuahua). Typically I end up hanging off the edge, while my sweet Dane sleeps soundly.

I am always surprised at how delicately they can jump into bed. I can go to sleep with one and wake up with another one (or two)and not even know they moved.
Jennifer: I too, know about that 4 foot strech. That is something you can't sleep through.

I am glad to here I am not the only one with these sleeping arrangments. Most non-Dane people think it's crazy.

I have a king sized bed and even though they will themselves to all minimize so they can ALL sleep with me, I've had too many sleep deprived days with weird aches and pains after sleeping with them. Now the jockeying between them to see who can be the one chosen at night is really funny... but I INSIST they take turns!

Like Susan said, they can jump into bed delicately - when they want to!! We were in Topeka last week too (wasn't it fun?? Wasn't it exhausting??<g>) and on more than one evening our 3 pups let off some steam by jumping from one bed in our room to the other. Back and forth... one morning while waiting for the elevator our neighbor met my husband with one of our dogs and asked if we were the people with the dogs jumping from bed to bed! I guess they heard them through the walls... or maybe heard us laughing!

I have been a fan of the site for years..Ginnie you do a WONDERFUL job. Since I am daneless at the moment, I come here to see the wonderful pictures. This is the first time I have posted a comment, but I couldn't pass this up. This thread reminded me of my last dane. My mother who is NOT a big dog person complained about my dane being in the house, but it was ok for her poodle to bite me when I was over, because it was "his" house. She came into my home and sat down on the couch, the dane crawled up behind her. rolled over and pushed his back up against her and shoved her in the floor...I said...this is HIS house, so get off his couch. <G>
