I love the expressions on these dog's faces. They are incredible. There are no words that I can think of to accurately describe these amazing dogs. No words could do justice.
I especially love the expression on this one: CH Wiedanes Tootsies Orchid Lounge it's priceless. Pretty much saying "is there ANY question here as to who is the best???" I just love it. I want to kiss them all. Oh, and the embrace...I love the embrace... |
The blacks, there is something about those black danes, maybe because I have one I don't know but they are stunning. Little Mick is the cutest, those ears are too cute on him! Good job Ginnie !!!
This is , by far, the best phto coverage I have ever seen of a National! You made it easy on the poor folks (like me) who didn't have the opportunity to attend this year. Way to go, Ginnie and thank you for the hard work!
Thank you, thank you, Ginnie!!!! Seeing your wonderful pictures is almost like being there again!!!
Much appreciated!!!

Hi Ginnie,
You have really taken some wondeful pics of the winners and I am sure of others as well.
I especially want to thank you for the beautiful head shot of my natural eared girl, Trudy. We had a great time and there were just some wonderful dogs. Thanks for taking pics and capturing them for everyone to see. Great job.......
Ginnie, thank you for your wonderful photos. As always, they are absolutely fabulous.
thank you Ginnie for all that you give us! I loved seeing the natural ears!! I think it's so much prettier! Thanks,Amanda
Ginnie,
Thank you for the beautiful pictures! I cant wait to see them all!!! You always do such such Wonderful work! Thank you again for taking the time. It is greatly apprecatied. Suzzane
WOW !!! How wonderful of you to take the time to do this. I can't tell you how nice it is to actually see shots of DOGS !!!!! Nationals is about the dogs not the people watching and boy you sure did a great job. Pat yourself on the back !!!
Ginnie, as I looked at your beautiful pictures, I was reminded of the magic danes who've owned me through the years. The blacks looked so like my gorgeous 213lb Clipper; the harl was "Timmy the Dog" (as opposed to "Timmy the brother"); and those delicious caramel colors look just like my lively, funny Guido. What a neat treat! Thanks for bringing it home, Ginnie!

I hope to see more of the Nat'l photos at DaDane. Ty & Cash & Phoenix were esp. spectacular in the Top 20, and the Veterans 6-8 (which I showed in) gave me GOOSEBUMPS! Plus Ginnie has such artistry: that photo of MariLynn with Chivo (WD) is the perfect example of an exemplary partnership! Marilyn has done SUCH a SPECTACULAR job with this boy & we all are in in awe of her work with him. Congrats to all the winners o all levels, and do show us photos of the other "also rans" who were, in many eyes, big winners in many varied ways, Ginnie. I know you have some great photos, still unrevealed & we are all waiting to see them unveiled! : )
Hi Ginnie,
Thanks for taking such spectacular photos! You're the best! The blues, the blacks, the harls.......oh they are All so beautiful. This is the best breed in the dog world!!!
Show us more photos...can't get enough.
Although I admire all of these Danes pictured my favorite photo is the one of Mari Lynn and the Harl boy of Sheron Higham-Trejo's. Every time I look at this picture I feel her joy and the thrill of this special win.
Your photography has brought us along with you to the show and keeps fresh the memories and excitement of National. Can't thank you enough for sharing your talent and time.
Although I admire all of the Danes pictured my favorite is the shot of Mari Lynn and the Harl boy of Sheron Higham-Trejo's. The joy and excitement you captured of this special win is evident and I want to cheer each time I see it.
Thank you for the talent and time your share with all of us Dane fanatics.
On top of having the most beautiful dogs you could every lay eyes on, all of the Owlwatch danes have perfect (and i mean PERFECT, Jane wouldn't settle for less) temperments. No one in the world could deserve the huge honor of BISS more than them- CONGRATULATIONS JANE AND PHIL GRAY! And congrats to their daughter, Patrice, who showed the big winner and to their granddaughter, Tristen, who won best Jr handler!
Hi Ginnie,
What a great week. I love the picture of Mari Lynn and the Harl boy... that picture describes what the whole week was all about... our love of the breed and the wonderful things they will do to please us. Thank you.
Thanks, Ginnie, for lovely up close and personal photographs of these beautiful examples of our beloved breed. Your photos always allow personality to shine through those bright eyes. Just wish we could reach out and touch each one! Trudy's head shot took my breath away... and the rest are not far behind. Can't wait for the rest.
Lovely photos as always!
You are a true artist with a lens.
I can hardly wait to see more. :)
Of course I'm hoping to see any of our 4 footed kids you may have taken...
they were the nat ear harl that won BBE Dog
the harl dog that won Vet 8yr+
and a few baby nat earrred harls that were in the Futurity.
thanks for the great pictures.. and what a great shot of Marilynn and "Chivo" . One of those moments when a pictures says more than a thousand words. thanks!!! from a proud grandma.
Hi Ginnie
I love to see pics ...I would like to see some uncropped Harlies at the show ! Pleaaaase
Thanks !

With no criticism intended for those who crop their Dane's ears, I am, nevertheless, delighted to see photos of winning Danes with natural ears. The ears are my favorite parts of my Danes. Overnuzzled, fondled and kissed and so soft and sweet-smelling. The Dane is such a magnificently beautiful dog, it doesn't need cosmetic enhancement. The same goes for breeds like Dobies, who don't need pointy ears to look intimidating. I realize cropping had practical reasons in some breeds' hunting pasts, but most of our dogs confine their hunting to searches for misplaced rawhide and tennis balls. Thanks for the photos of those wonderful ears.
Ginnie,
Once again you have outdone yourself in capturing what the GDCA National show is all about...
THE DANES! What beautiful pics, you really have a gift and an eye for capturing the best moments to share with us. Your pics almost make one feel as if they were there to share in the excitement that is the GDCA National!
KUDOS!!
Ginnie ...wow very nice pics ! Thanks to share with us !
Danes are nice with or withiut cropping ...but I do agree I like them more uncropped ! lol
Would love to see too natural ears Harlequins ! Winners or not at National 2005
Thanks again Ginnie
I love all your photos, but to see Dewitts Court Blue Print is a special thrill for me. I have been the proud owner of 2 of their dogs, 1 Black, Adelaide, 1 Harle, Sydney Blue, and can tell you Leigh's Danes have the most wonderful personality and temperment. It's good to see DeWitts Court getting some press. I can only wish them the best.
