Beautiful pictures. Who is better looking, the model or the dog? ;-)

Wow, what a great photo ! Every week your site gets better with more wonderful photos of these majestic animals. And not only is the photo fabulous, it is great to hesr that there is a healthy 91/2 year old Dane out there somewhere who still wants to get into the limelight.
Congratulations to Phil for taking this marvelous photo and for loveing his Dane so much to keep her still healthy and ready for more. All the Dane lovers in the world give you a big lick in the face Phil!!!

Wow! How gorgeous - and Rosebud isn't bad either! I KNEW I should have become a photographer.
Thanks, Ginnie.

9 and half ! How wonderful Rosebud is! What a fantastic photo. We had a friend over this weekend we have not seen in a long time. She came in and sat down on an antigue chair. Moses sauntered into the living room. Our friend has a Doxie and had never seen such a huge dog. Moses gave her a sniff and then proceeded to sprawl out on the sofa and go to sleep.
Our danes are the most wonderful creatures aren't they?

I looked into Rosebud's eyes, and it reminded me of Duchess, our Dane (1977-1985)---the same look in the face when she looked at you like that.

How does a body get a copy of that picture?

You should put happier puppy pictures on the site. I am already stressed, and looking at this photo made me sad :(

Ginnie, I think that both those pictures are great & the basic "study" within the first picture is great. The general apprehension of a Giant Breed is a normal reaction for someone that does not "know" Danes. The attitude shown by Rosebud shows that most Danes see new people as possible new friends which, to me, is a very pleasant thought.

How fabulous to see so many positive responses to that serene, luminous photo. Too bad one comment represents a hopefully small group of people who only are charmed by puppies and are "stressed" by maturity. The depth and feeling in that picture is awesome.

Thanks to everyone for the kind words, and to Ginnie for allowing me to share these images. By pure coincidence, Rosebud had her annual physical on Monday, the first day that these images ran. I am happy to say that she had a clean bill of health.. "Strong heart, strong femoral pulse, organs in good shape" the vet siad after her physical exam. Her blood work came back normal with the exception of one liver enzyme, which was also elevated last year at this time. No cause for over-concern, but I will be following up. Her eyesinght is better than mine. She can spot a furry feline in a backyard three houses down. She is the warmest, most gentle creature I have ever known, and brings pure joy to my life.

Ginnie and Phil, you have transcended the workaday photos of Danes with spirit and soul. Phil, your love of Rosebud is reflected in her eyes. These are moments we all see in our dogs but so seldom can capture. My heart bursts. Thank you, thank you.

Having just lost my almost 10 yr old brindle, this photo struck me as such a "Sunny" moment. I shared it with a few friends and here are their interpretations:
"It is time for bed, surely, whatever you are reading is not worth postponing our snuggle." "Did you forget my treat?" and finally "I remember, you promised to love me as much as I love you so come on."

I haven't checked in for a few weeks and what a wonderful suprise. Rosebud is a beautiful lady and you can see and feel the love that is there. What a great picture, and the modle is not bad either. Phil has a good eye behind the camera for what is truly beautiful. Thank you for sharing.
