Ginnie: How very fascinating! I can claim only ONE Horned Toad on my property and saw her with four tiny babies last year. Never was able to find out where their nest/home was, though.

Ginnie, Those of us that have been on the list for a while have learned to look forward to the description of this "Night" with a certian amount of scepticisn at first. Soon we have all learned that it is a real "event" <G>.

Hmmm I wonder if there is a "night" on the pond behind my house. I've heard the Spring Peepers recently and we do have many other frogs - I'll have to keep my eyes and ears open!

GORGEOUS photos!! National Geographic -caliber work!!
I used to lease and live on 257 wooded acres here in North Texas (now alas sacrificed to the developers) and I really miss being able to watch all the wildlife. I really enjoy your descriptions. Can't wait for the next installment.

I wish I could see this in person! How lucky you are to be living among so many creatures! I remember the bull frogs coming out at night and doing their thing. So what does Merlin think of all this?
