Beautiful picture!! Your Dadane pictures are always a nice way to start the week! :-)
I am especially impressed with this one, though - it is so hard to take a good picture of a black dog! Usually they just look like a blob or shadow. This one is just awesome, though.

oh my what a beautiful dog! Black Danes command attention I know Ihave one! Even at 5 with a gray muzzle and white around his eyes, Moses still makes cars stop dead in their tracks and people always want to stop to admire him. All Danes are awesome creatures but there is something in my opinion special about the black dane. Thanks for sharing!

WOW! What a beautiful Great Dane. Black on black, that had to be difficult.
The detail, the definintion, the depth - would love to see more like this with the other colors too.

What a beautiful animal!!! Do you know who this dog is?? I have a black and am very partial to the color. I am always researching breeders, and was interested in what line this one is from? I wait patiently every week for new pictures.

Excellent work! Blacks are probably THE most difficult to photograph, but you certainly have succeeded!

Being a photographer and the owner of a black Dane (albeit with much grey on her muzzle), I know how difficult it is to take a nice portrait. You nailed it!

Many have said it already....this is a true artist's/photographer's work. Black is tough to capture on film. Gorgeous, Ginnie.

Now...who is this lovely Dane??

Absolutely STUNNING portrait, Ginnie. You have done it again. The blacks and blues are particularly difficult to photograph well, and this portrait is about as perfect as it can be. I always look forward to seeing your new creations each week!

I want to thank everyone who took the time to comment on this week's portrait. I was pleased (and, frankly, rather stunned) by all the enthusiasm. Wow!
Several people inquired about the availabilty of prints. I can offer fine-art prints to those who are interested in this, and any other, DaDane portraits. I haven't put anything about it on my website yet, although I've been selling prints for a couple of months through word-of-mouth. I'll try to provide more information on next week's DaDane.
Thanks again,
Ginnie

The colors are amazing. I have two blacks, one is 5 years and the other 4 months. They are very hard to photograph even in the shade. Words can not describe how beautiful this dog is!! Who is he/she? Tell us more, please.

What a very handsome dane! You just want to give him a big hug. I have a black male dane and it seems I can't take him anywhere without people stoping me wanting to meet him. I wouldn't want it any other way.
